The newer part of Shanghai is the Pudong which is across the river from the older part of Shanghai. The tallest building in the Pudong is nicknamed the bottle opener. I think you can guess which building that is.

I was just there a few weeks ago, staying at the Fairmont on the Bund, and never managed to make it across the water to Pudong.
