Guardian Lion at the Forbidden City - Beijing, China - Photo

This Guardian Lion is one of a pair commonly used to show Chinese imperial power. This one guards an entrance in the Forbidden City. It is the male of the pair which has a paw on an orb. The female would have her paw on a lion cub.
